Kayak Fishing With John in WI

We decided do a bit of kayaking today because the weather was amazing here in Wisconsin. Today we kayaked along the Kettle Moraine Loew lake unit – Oconomowoc river.

We tried a little fishing and my brother caught his first fish in a Wavewalk.

He said that these kayaks make pretty good fishing vessels…

I said you don’t have to tell me that!

We also had to do the “limbo” today to get under a bridge. Don’t try this in a conventional kayak! It may be difficult to keep your balance laying down and getting up again.

Demo Proves W Kayak Stability

These women were experienced kayakers, who came to try out the W Fishing Kayak

They’ve been renting sit-on-tops for several years now, and almost took the final step to purchase two for their own, but decided they’d test a W kayak first, to see for themselves if the product lived up to the descriptions on the website.

They both stood-up and paddled around standing up. They both loved the comfort and stability of the plastic chair sitting over the saddle too! They both said it was just as stable with the chair. I sure think it is! They also said that sit-on-tops, no matter what you do, you’re wet after about 10 minutes… just from wave and paddle splash. But not in these W kayaks – they keep you dry!

They tested holding onto the chain fence railing beside the dock and could NOT get the hull they were standing in to go below the waterline and take on water, even standing on one leg with the other up in the air. They both said what I thought: if you get that far out of balance (without the fence to hold to) you’ll fall out before you ever take on water over the side.

They loved the kayaks… and after the test drive, they bought both of the ones I had on hand on the spot – They followed me to Simi, loaded their news kayaks up on top of their car, and off they went. They live in Huntington Beach about 2 hours from here. They were very knowledgeable about how to haul and tie down two kayaks on top of a car too.

After they had tested the W, these two experienced kayakers sure thought the W website hype was true!

Fishing for Bluegills in Wisconsin

Lem, hailing from Richland Center Wisconsin caught his first fish, a native bluegill, in his new Wavewalk fishing kayak . He was kind enough to share the pictures of the bluegills and walleyes he caught…

Lem says: – “Some pics from the kayak…. haven’t had time to use it a bunch yet but it’s been fun so far.”

Tandem Paddling and Catching Bass

Absolutely love the W fishing kayak!!

There have been no problems with my back since I’ve started using it.

Being able to stand up is absolutely the best part about it!

My girl and I have been out every weekend the last 6 weeks and are going strong.

Tandem paddling was really easy too.

The Wavewalk was a godsend for me, and was the only way I could have gotten back on the water in a kayak.

The bass in the picture I caught yesterday on a place called Round lake in eastern NY. It weighed almost 6 lbs.

Keep in touch…thanks for everything,

Clint
